Mango Smoothie with a Protein Kick

At Pounamu Protein we are smoothie fans! When this Pounamu Proteiner wakes up in the morning, she's not hungry for the first hour or so, but if she doesn't eat she can't concentrate and gets a little hangry. The solution? A protein smoothie as it is easy to drink and digest, and the flavor combinations are endless.

Tip: When mangoes are in season, buy a box and cut them up into cubes, put them on a cookie sheet and freeze (so they don't all stick together). Once frozen, put them in some Tupperware or a reusable bag so that you can have mango smoothies all year around! As an added plus, buying fresh mangoes means buying less plastic! 


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup water or milk
  • 1 scoop Pounamu Protein
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mango
  • 1 banana
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 6 ice cubes 

METHOD:

  1. Blend 1 scoop of your favorite Pounamu Protein powder into 1 cup of water or milk. 
  2. Add chopped mango, banana, yogurt and ice cubes to blender, then blend and enjoy.
